BayouSTEM

Summer Camp Offerings

NASA AstroCamp

  • Blast off into studying career fields needed to support space exploration & travel. Supported by Chevron, NASA, and our partners at Central Creativity, this kit-based camp will provide hours of fun activities for participants. Camp is open to for children in 1st-8th grade. Campers will be separated into smaller groups by grade level.

Girls In STEM Camp

  • Career exploration camp that focuses on recruiting girls to STEM programs. We will cover topics from engineering, robotics, computer science, chemistry, medicine, biology, allied health, etc. This camp is open for children from grades 1st-8th grade. Campers will be separated into smaller groups by grade level. 

Engineering Camp

  • Experience engineering & manufacturing principles and learn to problem solve with this immersive, hands-on camp. Students will construct and test a variety of projects over the course of the week.  Great for children in 3rd-12th grade. Campers will be separated into smaller groups by grade level.

Robotics & Coding Camp

  • Camp focused on introductory concepts in coding and robotics for kids in 1st-8th grades. LEGO, WonderRobots, and Scratch will be used by the kids to gain basic skills in programing and engineering.

Energy Venture Camp

  • We are modifying our approach to energy venture camp this year. Campers from grades 9-12 will be able to experience what it is like to work in production technology through hands-on, problem solving opportunities in Fletcher's Energy Production Technology labs. This week-long experience will incorporate lessons on principles of production tech, safety, problem solving, operations, and instrumentation. Faculty from Fletcher and employees of Shell will support this camp in discussing career opportunities and experiences with campers.

BayouSTEM at Nicholls State University Summer Camps

Engineering Camp

  • Experience engineering & manufacturing principles and learn to problem solve with this immersive, hands-on camp. Students will construct and test a variety of projects over the course of the week.  Great for children in 1st-8th grade. Campers will be separated into smaller groups by grade level.

SEAPERCH Camp

  • SeaPerch camp guides 4th-8th grade participants in building a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) using basic engineering, design, and science concepts. As a fun hands-on project, SeaPerch engages students and fosters key 21st century skills including critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity. Campers work in teams of 4 to build their robots. For an additional fee, campers can get their own robot to build at home.
